On April 12, the Winter 2022 bowling season conducted the end-of-season tournament. As usual, bragging rights were on the line in addition to the coveted spot on the league trophy. Pittsburgh’s bowling league is unique among other Stonewall leagues in how winning teams are acknowledged. Both the 1st Place League and Tournament Champion get awarded with separate plaques on the trophy. Additionally, the 1st Place League and Tournament Champion get to each designate a charity to split the season-long fundraising efforts of $1114. More league photos from the evening can be found on Facebook.

Congratulations to the “Ballbarians” for their 1st Place performance through 8 weeks of league play. They named ARYSE LGBTQ+ Initiative as their charity designation. The goal of the ARYSE LGBTQ+ Initiative is to help all of the organization’s stakeholders, especially youth participants and staff, become more expansive in their understanding and acceptance of gender and sexuality.

Congratulations to the “Couldn’t Spare Less” team for winning the end of season tournament. They named OutRight LGBTIQ Ukraine Emergency Fund as their charity designation. OutRight is determined to assist LGBTIQ people remaining in or fleeing Ukraine in their fight to survive the current conflict.

The next season of bowling begins on Tuesday, May 31 with registration starting on Tuesday, April 19.
