Chris Cordero elected as Volleyball commissioner
Pittsburgh, PA, (May 1, 2020) — Stonewall Alliance and Stonewall Sports Pittsburgh elected Chris Cordero to the role of Volleyball Commissioner for the sport’s fifth season.
Cordero has been an active, long-time member of the Stonewall community, having played in nine seasons of Kickball; four seasons of Dodgeball and Sand Volleyball; and one season of Bowling. He has served as head referee for Sand Volleyball and an umpire for Kickball.
“I thoroughly enjoy my experience with Stonewall,” says Cordero. “I give such high praise when speaking about Stonewall because it has changed my life for the better. Stonewall has provided me with so much, and I would love to give back to the organization.”
Though all Stonewall spring sports have been cancelled, the organization is committed to the continuity of planning and preparations for future seasons. Regarding COVID-19, we will continue to observe all federal, state and local guidance, with our foremost concern being the safety of our players and community. At this time, a determination has not yet been made about the future of June activities and beyond.
Volleyball will be entering its fifth season. Cordero is the third commissioner in the sport’s history with the organization, having been preceded by Steve Zanella and Keely Anthony.
